Jackson Slater is has icy powers, while his estranged lover, Sara Temple, is a fire wizard who is having problems with her powers. Their wizardly skills include teleporting and making objects appear (e.g., candles and red roses) and disappear (e.g., sweat and blood-stained clothes). When one of Sara's wizard friends seems to have a psychotic episode, Jack literally leaps to the rescue (across several continents and an ocean). Soon, the couple is deeply involved in preventing a sinister power from taking over the world.
