Publisher and Titles: Harlequin
      Night of the Wolves (2009)
      Night of the Vampires (2010)

This series is essentially a historical (Civil War) romance with a heavy dose of vampires. Stories revolve around a trio of good guys: Dr. Cody Fox (half human/half vampire Confederate officer), Cole Granger (human sheriff of Victory, TX), Brendan Vincent (human Union Army officer). The plot line involves a widespread vampire infestation during the Civil War.

Vamps are feeding on dying soldiers on the battlefields and on living citizens in the towns. Each book follows one member of the trio as he battles the vamps and finds his soul mate—always a tumultuous process with lots of trust issues.

In book 1, Cody falls in love with Alexandra, a psychic. In book 2, Cole falls in love with Megan Fox, Cody’s long-lost sister (and also half-human, half-vamp).

Each story includes scenes based on historical fact as well as scenes with various historical figures (e.g., Abraham Lincoln). Love scenes are brief and contain the phrases generally found in regular romance novels (e.g., “shattering moment of ecstasy,” “tangle of petticoats,” “burst of a thousand stars,” “a spiraling fire”), but not much graphic detail. Each story cycles among vamp battles, rocky relationship dialogues, and (not too many) sex scenes.
